Packing doodle curves explore the idea to combine a few classical generative art technique to draw curious curves.
Factually here are the techniques used:

<li>Circle packing to distribute the doodles.</li>
<li>Travelling Salesman Problem to solve connecting closest circles together.</li>
<li>kmeans clustering to distribute the circles into groups and optimise the TSP.</li>
<li>&quot;spiral sampling&quot; which is a technique I created and used in many of my past plots. This is what makes the dot part. We don&#39;t see it much on this specific plot as the circles are small but I may do more plots in future.</li>

This was implemented as candidate to <a href="https://genuary.art">genuary.art</a> &quot;Make a sea of shapes.&quot; of JAN.20.

Packing doodle curves

Like for <a href="/plots/384">plots/384</a>, I used the zig zag technique to test my ink gradient. I changed a bit the algorithm and ran it with different inks.
I adjusted a bit the parameters and applied it to palette I recently used for a generator.

9 inks

Genuary.art JAN.27 challenge was to use these 5 colors, challenge accepted with fountain pen and actual ink. There are no such very light ink so I have simply dilued a Diamine Earl Grey ink with water. The other inks are Twilight, Imperial Purple, Amber and Hope Pink. (all from Diamine)
These zig zags are useful for testing inks and I may use this technique more in the future. The lines are compressed using <code>x.powf(2.0)</code> where x is in <code>0.0 -&gt; 1.0</code> range which makes it more and more dense on the left side and allow to see how the ink is going to saturate.
